I disagree with the above interpretation. The meaning of this song can easily be mistaken as the banal Disney ideology which goes like: "you can become anything, nobody decides who you are". But you would do wrong to the song and miss it`s actual brilliance!\n\nThe song asks the questions:\nWho are you if everything changes anyway? Is there anything like a constant “real” core to yourself? Who defines your identity if not the others? And what remains of your identity when you take away the judgments of the others?\n\nThe song answers with this brilliant line:\n„ Weiß du Nichts davon, ist wirklich nichts davon ist soundso“ wich contains the convoluted phrases\n„Nichts davon ist wirklich“ („none of it is real“) & „wirklich nichts davon ist soundso“ (none of it is like this or that. (Difficult to translate))\nAnd finaly:\n„Glaub mir nichts davon bist du“ (Believe me: none of that is you.)\n\nThe song is about the suffering that is created from your identity. You need the others to build and confirm your identity and at the same time it suffocates you because that “identity” never really fits you and the reason is, that there is no constant real core of yourself. It becomes like a prison:\n„Du gehst K.O weil du weiß du bist soundso” (you break down because you know that you are like this or like that)
