This is what I get from the song.\nAs it goes with many songs, the writers or singers many times leave the interpretation open for meaning or our decisions to make what we want from it, as long as it makes sense.\nWhat I get from it is he puts much, much effort into the relationship, displaying all his emotions and thoughts and feelings, even ‘lying’ and ‘scheming’ and the rest of the negative things to make her feel happy, loved. But he genuinely does the good things, too, because that comes naturally through his feelings for her.\nThen we come to the girl. Love comes easy for her. She doesn’t think too much about it, she doesn’t do too much as to ‘prove’ it to him: her love is real and she gives her heart complete without much effort.\nEverything he is and knows is nothing when he compares it to how much he loves her, therefore it all means nothing until ‘he gives it all [everything he knows and feels] to her.’\nYES, he is a hopeless romantic, poetry in action regarding his love for her. She on the other hand is like a beautiful painting, that gives love without doing anything.\nHe wishes she would, or could, showcase her love with more words and actions, that is why he is confused and why he is very expressive with his thoughts, to make her know he loves her, whether she loves him or not (but she does hence “making love out of nothing at all,” LOVE the key word).\nBut she does show him he is the only one, which is why he keeps pouring out his heart to her, else he wouldn’t. The Song Is NOT About Sex.
