Cover art for Big Eyed Beans from Venus lyrics by Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band

It is about love that comes from outside. He is right to think that love is like a third thing, a big eyed bean, an alien or the mother\'s breast, that brings peace - earth people just have to let it in. Love doesn\'t grow out of what people are and what a good "match" their characteristics are (not even helpful at times), it has an existence of its own and changes altogether who one was before it came. If you were ever in love, didn\'t you feel you were suddenly someone else, someone better? It breaks the worsest of curses.\n\nThis may be a stretch but there are doubles twice. When the big eyed beans are mentioned for the first time it is followed by "oh my, oh my" and then again the song ends with "big eyed beans from Venus" said twice. Given that Venus is the goddess of love, as said before, the big eyed beans may be the two breasts that are also the symbol of a love/peace coming from without, like the mother\'s breasts are for the baby (they are these large "alien" beings that descend upon his/her face!).
