I never understood, or rather took the time to care about lyrics of Joji’s songs until recently. Like really listen to them and think twice like ‘Damn, that’s deep’ (unironically).\n\nMy interpretation of the song’s lyrics is that he’s speaking to a former lover and in the song it’s implied they’re considering ending their own life. He yearns for them and says the following long\n\n“Why do you dare to take that away?”\n“I don’t understand”\n\nNear the end, is an interesting way that the song ends. It’s not necessarily a nice bow on top, but I feel ends BALLADS 1 nicely\n\nI will find a way\nOoh yeah\nI will find myself\nAnd I will love you\nWith my soul\nYou\'re all I\'ve ever wanted\nI know that I love you\nStill driving\nTake my hands in yours, please don\'t go\nI love you\nI love you\nI love you\nI love you\nI will find a way\nI will find a way\n\nThis suggests that though they’ve parted ways, he still very deeply cares for them.
