To me the song is about making choices. We are born, we are pushing hard all the way through, Obviously one can make bad choices, (cheating as an example), and the bad that comes from those bad choices.
However, one can accept positivity... Can choose those relationships that inspire positivity and well-being (well being all the way around.. spiritual, physical, mental, etc...)
You can mend the wires (It is not too late to fix what is broken)
You can touch your life (your actions can still be good or bad. it is a warning)
You can bring your soul alive (You can be the best version of yourself)
