Clearly an homage to John Stewart of the Kingston Trio. Buckingham has credited Stewart for his fingerpicking style, which he claimed to have learned from Stewart’s banjo playing. Also, Buckingham produced several of Stewart’s solo albums including 1979’s Bombs Away Dream Babies which included the Top Ten single, Gold. Stewart later recorded his own tribute to the Fleetwood Mac guitarist, “Liddy Buck.” And the lyric “it takes a worried man to sing a worried song” is lifted directly from one of the Trio’s biggest hits.
