I've always looked at this tune from the point of view based on the "overview effect', a cognitive shift in awareness reported by many astronauts during spaceflight, often when viewing the Earth from space. The "serenade from the stars" is the magical music that is all around us in this wonderful universe, a song often lost in the day to day challenge that is life on our planet. We are repeatedly urged to "wake up and look around you", if only to appreciate that unconditional love for one fleeting moment. We are truly lost in space, often losing sight of the fact that this fabulous world is our one and only home and we should appreciate it as best we can.
