“We’ll put it together and get it undone” This lyric is peculiar. I thought they were saying “get it ALL done” but the lyric is “get it undone.” Songs in this era often covered difficult or political subjects with happy feelings. “Getting it undone” in 1970 referred to getting an abortion. “Put it together” would refer to putting your money together. If you look at the lyrics in terms of a woman being consoled that hopefully she’ll get the money for her abortion, it (to use a modern term) hits different.

I was really intrigued for the meaning of the lyrics. For a person who doesn\'t understand English sould sound a Christmas carol, evoking The child. Nothing is further from real meaning.
