It took a long time before I discovered CW McCall's "Convoy" and the friends of Jesus. Redd Kross spins a wonderful cultural collage of decade spanning rock n roll, Americana, TV trash culture is masterful on this, their best album so far. They bridge the gap between the Beatles, the Germs, and outlaw truckers and it's beautiful. The lyrics on this, the funky opening number, are pretty much self evident - get down with us, hang-ups and all, mama we're all crazee now! This is a fun romp but probably the weakest song on the album, but it picks up speed fast and the ride doesn't let up 'til the final groove. Rock on, baby!
