Actually, I think it’s “ever since time memorial.” I think it is a play on the phrase “since time immemorial.” The line is followed by “it’s all stored up in chemicals,” which in this context I think refers to a genetically passed on, shared memory. There were studies done in the 20th century on flatworms that showed worms could access memories (to navigate mazes) of other worms by ingesting them, leading to the possibility that there is a physical/genetic component to memories.
