@FFSPPL I will only comment briefly that (hallucinogenic) mushrooms usually grow, although not exclusively, around rivers, lakes and lagoons; also around dams, reservoirs, even ponds (or other infrastructure that gives rise to equivalent ecosystems) but not in marshy water ponds. The phrase 'They grow in boggy ponds' immediately jumped out at me since it goes against everything I know about it since those are very dirty places.
