In an interview in the podcast "Life in the stocks" Chuck Robertson said that the lyrics to this song were written by a friend of the band called Logan, and they're about "gay lovers hiding from the people that wanna kill'em because they're gay", basically about any sort of "forbidden" or unaccepted love
