Plesz 4give me for not speaking perfect english. I never knew the Ramones or much of Punk til my age of 55 now. I saw a dokumetation on TV an felt like being grabbed by the backbones. I felt i had to find out more about PUNK and think i did. This songtext says - in my opinion - That the singer really wants to be doing as well as the society expects him to be well. Society is his(our) idol coz it has to be. He wants to take Drugs (LSD/holy smole, use DDT, he wants to be bankrupt like the "well" people(daddy), And he tries and tries and tries(I want, I want...). to follow this idol of society. He could also say something like "I want to pollute, I want to threaten world war" or whatever is part of society besides career, family and all the obvious "good/well" aspects.
