I giardini di marzo Lyrics

Lyric discussion by JayZlo

Cover art for I giardini di marzo lyrics by Lucio Battisti

"Continuai a camminare lasciandoti attrice di ieri "

Does anyone know what's the meaning of the expression "actress of yesterday"? I've never heard until this song.

Song Meaning

@JayZlo it's almost like he (the singer) is hopelessly neurotic. To a neurotic, everyone else seems to be acting a part, trying to look appropriate. Eleanor Rigby putting on the face that she keeps in a jar by the door. It reminds me of a scene in the book Nausea, by Sarte, where the obviously neurotic protaganist is watching someone in a phone booth, he can't hear the conversation, but it seems to the neurotic watcher that the guy in the booth is some kind of actor, like not real.
