I really liked this song for almost 50 years and never knew what it was about. It saddens me to find out - well what would you expect from Elton? Of course it has to be obscurely written, twisted, because it is nasty - but it makes perfect sense.

No. If both Bernie and Elton have said in past interviews that the words don't have a meaning...other than to rhyme in a song, I'm going to believe them over this absolute nonsense that frankly is far more disgusting than what one of their songs would ever be about. Nor do I care for a second to hear about Elton's private life and decisions and preferences. It does not make one iota of difference is he's gay or not. You certainly expanded into their world...must mean you're gay as well. Right?
