The third track of Taylor's new album 'Folklore' was written by Taylor Swift and Aaron Dessner Produced by Aaron Dessner. It was recorded by Jonathan Low and Aaron Dessner at Long Pond (Hudson Valley, NY). Mixed by Jonathan Low at Long Pond (Hudson Valley, NY). Mastered by Randy Merrill at Sterling Sound (New York, NY). The track was released on July 24, 2020.

What the artist means On the last great american dynasty from her latest effort 'Folklore'. Taylor sings about the last great American dynasty and paints a vivid picture. On this track you might need to listen a few times to get all the hidden meanings behind this heady tune. She talks about the glory days of the nation and compares it to these days. She talks about the maddest woman the town has ever seen and this reminds me of her last album 'Lover'. The track is a nice one coupled with decent production in keeping to the standard that Taylor has set over the past decade or so. A dark track, a melodic tune and one that needs multiple revisits.

What the song means to me The song is quite dark when compared to the opening two tracks, the beauty of this track is that it shows off Taylor's versatility and how she has shaken off the tag of a one trick pony which was slapped on her brand after previous releases. It shows off her maturity and it means so much to me as a lover of artistes experimenting and leaving their comfort zones every now and then. I will give this song a rating of 8/10.
