For me this is 100% about George Orwell's 1984. The obvious reference being 'flashback nineteen eighty four'.

The lyric 'erase me when I'm dead' is very distinctive and definitely references the novels mention of removing any record of undesirable people - hence erasing them.

For me the most noteworthy example is 'a thought that starts a riot'. The central theme of the book is controlling the population so far as to policing their thoughts with the protagonist being the latest to rebel. It is repeatedly mentioned that even thinking about rebelling is a crime punishable by death and this lyric speaks volumes to that end.
