One of my favorite songs by James Mcmurtry, who is an incredible song writer because of his ability to create characters in ballads. I don't pretend to know what his intentions were here. But there is someone tired and worn out by life. I can relate to that.
@tmcdanel Hey, got any idea why this is only on a live album? Is there a studio version somewhere by McMurtry? At least on Amazon ULTRA HD there is only one version by him and its the live in ought three album, but on no others. Plenty of covers, but thats not what im after.
