Personally, I love this song. Its one of my favs. I feel like this song has a really simple meaning: The singer is madly in love with someone, and when the person is not around, he feels sad and wants the other person to be with him. The part when he sings, "Every time your not in my arms, I start to lose myself," makes me think that when the other person is not around, he feels like part of him is missing. And also, the part when he sings, 'Someone please pass me my shades, don't let 'em see me down, you have taken over my days," makes me think that he's trying to hide what big of an impact this person has on him. Later in the song he sings how "I pretend the night is so beautiful," meaning that he's pretending to be OK for the sake of everyone else, but inside, he's dying because he can't see the person he's so madly in love with.
