Apparently it appears that the man is in love with the woman, and waits on seeking where she’s at (cares for him on the same level he cares about her), but finds himself standing alone, because she apparently doesn’t love him, as he loves her (she’s not solely wanting to commit to him). He keeps the door open for her to “have him anytime”, yet he refuses to let go, because he wants to believe she will eventually love him enough (highly unlikely to happen), yet he plays the fool for her.... Letting her know she’s welcome to come back to him whenever she wants to.
