Why no comments on Fake Nudes? Best BNL album in years! Love this song. A nostalgic & a heartfelt message to Steven Page with lots of Canadian references. Starts with Ed missing their days of stardom & partying across the US together. Felt like Sid Crosby celebrating winning the Stanley Cup. Juxtaposed in the 2nd part by Ed lounging around his apartment feeling lost & distant & admitting he'd like to start making music with Page again ("My Friend" gets me every time). Listening to Neil Young & Joni Mitchell & Gordie Johnson (all Canadian musicians) & it's making him cry (great lines). "Tommy" Cochrane says "Life is a Highway" - He understands people change & have their own path, but he feels abandoned on Page's highway of life.

My Interpretation

@Mutineer \r\n\r\nThanks for the explanation Mutineer,I\'ve often wondered who Gordy was as he\'s unheard of here in England, was this a hit in Canada or the states as nobody I know has heard it over here,it\'s a great album

@Mutineer \r\n\r\nI totally agree that it\'s one of the BNL\'s best albums and one of my favourites full stop, thanks for explaining who Gordie was Mutineer as that always puzzled me,I thought that maybe it was Gordon Lightfoot as Gordie Johnson is unheard of in England
