Andy explained in an interview that he likes to think that his references to love in this album are not neccesarily a romantic love.

So this song is about love in any form feeling like its disolving and how you can feel you just are going through the motions with a romantic partner or a close friend or whoever because that strong feeling you used to have for someone isnt there anymore.
