When I was at Churchlands High School, about 1991 I think.... A guy and girl broke up or something, and the guy came to class one day and stabbed her almost to death with scissors. She died on the way to the hospital. This happened two classrooms up from me, and we could hear people running the hallway and screaming, but were made to stay inside our classroom. Then our school held a memorial, which featured this song. I did not know the girl, but this song made me suddenly fall apart and cry like never before, for the girl, the families involved, the whole situation and the sheer loss of such a young bright person, who's life was taken, in one fit of emotional rage. This one event has affected the way I interact with humans and relationships of any kind. As soon as there is any sort of aggression or rage, or if I see it happening with others in front of me, I immediately diffuse the situation and remind everyone of the seriousness of possible consequences of a moment of losing your head and losing your shit, you strike out in a rage, but like those people who died from one punch... You don't realise what you've done until its too late.. Anyway, this is a beautiful memorial song to me
