I think that the title halfway right refers to being at war with yourself or just generally not being on your own side. If you are in arguments with yourself (because "there's nobody else to fight"), you can't win or lose because either way, you are halfway right. It's obviously talking about a spiral into drug addiction or just generally self destructive behavior, but I think it's specifically talking about the indecision and inability to act that causes a person to remain in that spiral. Waking up driving sounds like it represents the scariest possible result of blacking out, and that disturbs him and makes him see that he took it too far. But he can't "slow down" because he is still at conflict with himself, maybe because he feels it's already hopeless ("I was already gone"). "I know what I want but it feels like i'm paralyzed" sounds like an internal conflict that leads to paralyzing indecision. Or the inability to act may just be a result of the loss of control and addiction.
