This is one of at least a couple of songs Justin Hayward wrote about his father's passing. The other notable one was 'New Horizon's' which also combined an homage to his new family (wife and daughter). He also lost his brother somewhere around this time, so perhaps an element of that here too.
@SAJK I've been looking for the personal history of Justin Hayward, as I'd like to know what in his life caused him the pain you can see etched on his face so much of the time, back in the day of course. The pain from whence sprang so much great music, yet which itself is etched with that pain & melancholy. Any suggestions?
