This song is one of my go-tos when I get caught in the media storm that exists today, everything just becomes too overwhelming and I turn all that off and I sink into this song. One really powerful mental connection I make, perhaps because it was going on around the same time this song came out I think, was Christine Blasey Ford standing up in front of the whole world to describe her traumatic experiences. "We send our sisters to the sacrifice" - my god, that's exactly what happened to her, a woman who survived assault, is brave enough to speak publicly about it on live tv and in front of a wall of cold faces, and then a bunch of people don't even believe her or give her any credibility. That's definitely being sent to the sacrifice if you ask me.
