Cover art for Coming In From The Cold lyrics by Bob Marley and the Wailers

A friend to me tell that one day, back when Bob was working at the Chrysler plant in Newark, Delaware, and living with his Mom in Wilmington, my friend says he was driving his VW beetle from college (also in Newark) to his cottage, in Arden, north of Wilmington. It was a cold winter day and my friend saw a young man hitchhiking along the road. My friend stopped to offer the fellow a ride. The pedestrian opened the door, destinations were exchanged, and the fellow got into the car, closing the door. As they drove off, the fellow said, "This car is pretty warm - for a Volkswagen. It's good, when one door opens, to come in from the cold to a warm place."
