Recorded in 1980 in the interregnum between Carter and Reagan. Surreal but very apt song for the times, with America the world hegemon and essentially an Empire and a bully, not only militarily but economically, hence "the world in chains" with "the serving maids wore red suits" an obvious postulation that the Soviet Communists are now servants to the Americans. (Red is communist colours). This may well also be the first transcription of this Bram Tchaikovsky track anywhere on the internet and am glad to finally get around to transcribing some more tracks. :)
