Through all the amazing love songs, there were so many ones about hurt and damage. She stood by him through it all. I suppose by singing these songs, the love songs and the ones of regret, he was able to keep their relationship together. He sang repeatedly of his love for her as well as songs that help him remember to be better for her. So even though it sounds like he could be a total jerk sometimes lol, he redeems himself by singing about his deeply felt remorse. Ahh Robert...
