You say that you wanna go To a land that's far away How are we supposed to get there With the way that we're living today?

                                                    (she's talking about someone who believes in afterlife, heaven,"a land that's far away" but she's being pessimistic bc she believes she has done many sins "the way that we're living today")

You talk lots about God Freedom comes from the call But that's not what this bitch wants No what I want at all

                                                    (this friend probably wants to bring Lana to believe in God since he "talk lots about God". And as a believer, I am taught that by accepting Jesus we are blessed with freedom. The call means being a Christian, but she doesn't need religion)

                                                    (she doesn't need religion because her priority is her material need, flesh satisfaction... "money, power and glory". And why she sang "Alleluia" probably because she pray to God to grant her prayer. "I wanna take you for all that you got" is her talking to God, she want Him to use His power, bless and affection for her need through prayer)

The sun also rises on those who fail to call My life, it comprises of losses and wins and fails and falls I can do it if you really, really like that I know what you really want, b-baby I can do it if you think you like that You should run, boy, run

                                                    ("The sun also rises on those who fail to call" mean those people who keep making sins or not accept Jesus yet still got chance to live in the mortal world, it is not the end for them. While she live in misery and she think it's unfair. She tell the guy who "Talk lots about God" that she actually capable of believing what he believes, but it will be meaningless if her inner thought still rebelling. So it is better for him to stop trying to make her be like minded with him "Run, boy, run". It's like she's being sarcastic to him.)

This song probably about a woman who put material and flesh satisfaction as priority over spiritual growth. And a man who tries to open her mind that material need is just mortal and that she will never be satisfied, but with God, she will find true eternal happiness. She know it but still she want that happiness from money. She's arguing with that man and herself, but her ego always win.
