Without giving it too much thought, and probably being a long way off correct, i got vibes of a movie maker going though intense anguish to the point where all they care for is what is captured to film. The actress pretends (acts) and the director pretends (does what ever is required to get the desired results). If the actress fails, there's a line of others only too happy to take the place of another.
