I think there's deeply imbedded in the song a feeling of appreciation for being around others, but maybe from some distance, but I don't think that distance is intentional, it's more circumstantial, like something inevitable. And this what I think this is about. It's about relationships and how the fluctuate over time. I was watching the other day a video on YouTube where Kazu talks about the making of this song, and I am unsure if I understood correctly, but it seemed to me that she said that this song was about her fans, her colleagues, her friends, in general, the people she has interacted with and that she wonders who's gonna stay after all, who's really there for her. "Looking everywhere I see nothing but people. Where have they gone? I always thought I could never leave them. They are calling me, they don't know I can't stay all night long". I don't know how Dr, Strangeluv fits into all of this, maybe it's just sort of a wordplay of the words strange and love and not referencing a specific person or character. But indeed, this is so sad, it is true.
