Room For One More Lyrics

I got this album when it came out and I remember John Bush talking about this song.

It's specifically about some death row & Lifer inmates that have "found god" in prison after committing multiple murders and how god has forgiven them.

The first verse deals with "Your heart is cured now, you're normal once again One confession, you thought that's all it took, But redemption, doesn't let you off the hook"

They confessed their sins (crimes) and think that they are ok, but that redemption (i.e. Hell) won't forget what they did.

"One more place at the table always room for one more" is a literal meaning that there's always room for one more in Hell.

"Thinking evil, is that just your normal gig Fueled by hatred, happy as a stuffed pig" Second verse is about the actual inmates mental state and how some of them seem oblivious to the hurt they've caused.

"You're so lonely, everyone around you reeks, Of indifference, thriving in their apathy" Once they come to terms with it, they're surprised that no one in authority takes their supposed contrition seriously.

The last verse:- "Your schism, my distress, Your failure is my success. Squeezed out, kept me down, What goes around comes around I can wait you out, Patience is my virtue Call it payback, call it proper grounds What goes around always comes around, always comes around"

Is the inmates conscience speaking to them a conscience that they surpressed while committing their crimes and subsequent lack of remorse for what they've done. However sooner or later after their confession in verse 1 and the lack of empathy or acceptance by people of that confession in verse 2 their conscience "Can wait you out" and that "Call it payback, call it proper ground, what goes around always comes around".

Trust me I seen the interview with John Bush where he explains this
