This song was originally written for and introduced by Broadway star Walter Willison in the 1970 Broadway musical TWO BY TWO with music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Martin Charnin and recorded on the Columbia Records Original Broadway Cast Recording. Mr. Willison received a Tony Award nomination for his performance in that show.

Tony Bennet has stated on numerous occasions, on stage and in print [People Magazine, etc.], that “I Do Not Know a Day I Did Not Live You” is his most favorite recording of all the love song that he has recorded.

NOTE: The last line in the lyric above is incorrect. The lyric is not “all our lives” it is: “The way that I have loved you all along.”
