I relate to this song a little differently.
As somebody who has been living with mental illnesses like severe depression, dissociation and anxiety I see the female in this song as the dark part of myself ("one person not two of a kind") who unexpectedly takes over who I am "everything I know goes out the window" and threatens to "brings the house down". Its like when things are at their worst I watch vicariously as she takes control ("I feel possessed") and after coming to terms that "she" is a part of me I stop questioning and embrace her ("Whenever you invade my home everything I know flies out the window, It's above you and beyond me too, I don't want an explanation but I'll be there when you bring the house down")
@Shannonymous297 I made an account just to upvote your comment. I totally agree. The first verse sounds like someone struggling with a breakdown / split personalities kind of thing.
