My 2 cents: sometimes being human means to take a step back from how you expect things to happens, and instead being the one who makes them happen even if not in the perfect way you wished them to happen, or being angry or happy instead of being indifferent and coldish.
I imagine the depressurize part as what happens before getting out of your own world, maybe a perfect one when there are not many contacts with the outside for a long time, before entering the one where people interact with each other all the time, and accept and even love imperfections.
