Who the aych cares what this song's about. It is one of the greatest meaningless songs of all time. Mssrs. Mothersbaugh and Casale, musical geniuses you both are, I do not wish to suggest 'meaningless' equates to 'worthless.'
Quite the contrary.
Some songs I don't want to have to think about, figure out, or interpret. I simply want to put my headphones on, turn the volume all the way up, rest my head back, close my eyes and simply enjoy. To marvel at the synthesized wizardry mashed with infectious pop. An extended-version mix you wish never ended.
The fact that there have been ZERO comments for a song that is nearly 35 years old is either perfectly poetic or tragically sad. And yet maybe it's because Here To Go is a song from another dimension not even released yet and like the group that sings still, after all these years, way ahead of their time...and timeless at the same time.
(Oh, but if you insist, I'm guessing the song lyrics have something to do with the fact that we are men, and women, of action, all born to not merely exist but to get shit done. We are here to GO GO GO G-G-G-GOOO!)
@tdnsexy1 I disagree with your analysis. The song is about how ACTION is better than THOUGHT. When your house is on fire, you don't need to stop and think, or conduct a vote on what to do, you just need to RUN. Go with your gut - don't overthink. Just GO!
