Cover art for No Tears lyrics by Melanie Thornton

Not sure if this might be obvious, but I feel that this was written as an autobiographical song about Melanie "breaking free" from La Bouche and going on her own, but for her own good, and for her career ("Blindly I'd follow, trustingly/And never question why/Unaware of the power inside of me/No tears to cry/No sad goodbyes/I'm spreading my wings/And I'm ready to fly"). Despite all of the hard work that she'd undertaken to make it as a member of La Bouche, she'd channel it to help her go for the chance to make it big as the star of her own show ("The struggle and pain I won't forget/It's made a mark on me/But with all of the strength I possess/I've gotta go for the chance of a life so sweet"). The line about "This millenium will be my time to be free" could also be an autobiographical part about her having been a member of La Bouche in the '90s, and making it on her own in the 2000s. Amazing song.
