A brilliant way of exposing the depressed mind with a bit of over-the-top satirical levity. When I listen to this song, I just imagine a miniature sized Gaz Coombs dancing about in a devil costume onesie trying to get inside your head, and telling you all sorts of nonsense as he tries to isolate you from the rest of the world and drive you crazy. He sings it with such devilish relish, his voice drips with twisted, tortured, impish, satirical glee. But the beauty of the song is it's transparency. He admits it's all lies, none of what he says is true, even if you think so, and then, hilariously, repeats his lies all over again. Its like the rational mind breaking the surface for a second telling you no! I know people care about me! Before the tide of irrational subconscious washes over you again and swallows you up in depression. If ever I feel isolated, sad, depressed and not myself, this song doesn't dignify or glorify it with emo angst, but illustrates that it's just a state of mind, and generally a load of b.s. it's a sick joke played on you by a cheeky malicious demon you've let inside your head. If I find myself chuckling by the end of the song, I know it's done the trick. Demon exorcised.
