I think this song is definitely about the singer not being interested in a former lover anymore because of her leaving him for another fella. I also think the song dabbles with the idea of lasting feelings when someone initially tells you something or does something to you, you don’t care about justifications or reasonings, you only have a wave of that feeling entering your body, so you forget most of the details of the convo, but you still remember the over-arching feeling u had, which is what matters most.
