This is definitely a sing-along song: even kids are singing along (yes, those are kids doing the response in this call-and-response song) and the thing that they are singing is depressing. I guess you could say this song is Colin's way of saying "We said that there'd be no more sing-along SUICIDE songs. We didn't say that there'd be no more sing-along songs with depressing lyrics."
