I think it's quite straight forward. It's a song about meeting and/or getting to know a new love interest and the feeling of wanting to know whether they're into you or not. Perhaps this moment takes place at a party based on the 'I'm so gone, Anyone could see that I'm wasted' line at the start of the song. The song is an inner-monologue one might have with themselves in which they express that they want to know the feelings of the other person and it's very much addressed to the love interest but singer doesn't have the confidence to tell them this face-to-face or hasn't had the chance to do so yet.
