@Ozziedave I just listened to it again and had the same thought. Maybe because we're right off the heels of Parkland and the same back-and-forth we always get after high-profile shootings, but the "thoughts and prayers" lines immediately jumped out at me.

@Ozziedave If you know Maynard and his music then you'd definitely know this song doesn't have anything to do with gun control. That's laughable. He's pretty much a libertarian and pro 2nd Amendment. This has been shown throughout many of his lyrics over the years. Plus he was in the military at one point and understands the need for the 2nd Amendment. @Ozziedave I'm pretty sure this whole song is about how screwed up our government is in the US and it's because most of the politicians are fake religious hypocrites that use Jesus as their talking points but then they go about their lives not being anything like Jesus. Politicians don't care about your health care or whether you end up starving, homeless, and bleeding out on the streets. All they care about is money!
