My thoughts on this song is that it’s about a couple who were together for so long and A tragedy happened and one of them didn’t make it and they were just reliving every single moment that they had with that person for instance where it says

to me it means that without that person in there life that they spent there whole life with they don’t know who they are anymore without them and they were willing to go to them but couldn’t for reasons only they would know hence (not that far)
