I think this song is about a woman who was in a relationship - possibly marriage -with a narcissistic person who basically derailed her life. The narcissist needs to feel like the good guy and so they are trying to paint themselves positive and be friends after the relationship is over. But the truth is that they fucked this woman’s “track” over and made her a shell of who she used to be. Now that she is over them, she finds it funny and pathetic that the narcissist is still trying to be a friend to her and also be like a kind of valiant savior making amends and offering “remedies”. But she knows the words are just empty “melodies” and “lies” that actually kill her spirit if she were to believe them.
