Just reading Slaughterhouse 5 by another Kurt, Vonnegut, where the main character is another Billy, Pilgrim. One of the famous quotes from the book of course being "there is no why".
“Here There Is No Why” was also the infamous Dr. Joseph Mengele’s answer to Roma (Rachel Roth), the author of 'Here there is no why', and to millions of Jewish victims of the Holocaust.
Makes me think perhaps the sad/teen machines in the song may also be war related.....
