One of my absolute favorite Turbonegro songs. From a swedish interview:

”The nihilistic army” starts off as a typical punk song about hating everything. But its purpose is to show how hard it is to keep the nihilistic attitude up into your middle ages.

  • We love that annoying cave man attitude in early punk such as The Dead Boys or Rocket From The Tombs. All the songs are anti-everything.

  • But the guys in those bands were 17 years old and unemployed in Cleveland. We are 40 and millionaires, says Happy-Tom.

  • So we wanted to write about what happens when you are successful and privileged but keeps hating everything, says Tony. We changed the classic punk line ”don’t wanna go to work, my boss is a jerk” to ”don’t wanna go to work, my secretary’s a jerk”.

  • Its hard to find good staff nowadays, says Happy-Tom.
