I’ve always taken Second Coming, along with The Ballad of Dwight Fry, and Sun Arise, as a trilogy. Second Coming is the character (Alice?) as a street corner prophet. The man is viewed as insane, and sent to an asylum (The Ballad of Dwight Fry), where he breaks out, but is soon recaptured. Eventually he is rehabilitated and released (Sun Arise). Of all the songs on Love It To Death, these three are the only ones that segue into each other without a break. So that’s my take.
