Speaking as someone who has actively code to both participate and not in regular society, there has been not many things more romantic than the idea of “running away and joining the circus...” So the line “one day I’ll burn this whole place down when the circus comes to town” speaks to me on a very deep level; To me I hear it as “fuck this shit and fuck you, I’m going where I can be myself” Burn all your bridges and leave with the circus... such a beautiful heartwrenching song
