Here is what I get. This is a poetic song at it’s best with snapshots.
“Winding paths through tables and glass, first flowers bloom” seems like a Spring wedding reception.
“Now watch the Summer pass so close to you” indicates a near reaching of the ecstasy of a Love relation.
“Too late to keep the change, too late to pay, no time to say the same, too young to leave” may be the relationship was a little premature in knowing each other thus a struggle in it, but not knowing how to leave it. This relationship is very young.
“No pass out sign on the door set me thinking” is indicative of someone becoming alert to what is going on from a third perspective.
“Are waitresses paying the price of their winking” may talk about how she got into that relationship in the first place.
“While stars sit in bars and decide what their drinking” talks about the shallowness of that environment.
“They stop by to die because it’s faster than sinking” , well let’s just say that’s true. Give up on Hope and drown your sorrows.
“Find out that now was the answer to answers that you gave later” is a look at “why did this happen” was I living in the past, present or future? Now is all that is available to work with. Retrospect.
“She did the things that we all did before now but who forgave her” may mean she can’t forgive herself for the mistake.
“If I could stand to see her crying, I would tell her not to care” …she still loves the person she married and the obvious truth would bring her to tears.
“When she learns of all your lying, will she join you there” …..now the singer is talking to the groom who apparently is unfaithful or just a jerk. One of her options is to hide from truth and just go along. In the end the singer wants to take her away from it all because he know she is worth so much more. Get away and live peaceably.
